Tank Farm Equipment

Valves and pumps in oil tank farms are frequently operated and subjected to varying media, but in normal operation they are typically required to withstand pressures of only up to about 6 bar. For this reason, our company has developed a sealing program specifically tailored to tank farm applications.

Retrofit of Valves

Tank farm valves can be retrofitted at the spindle (stem) seal on-site and while the tank is filled. For this purpose, spring-loaded packing sets are used, providing low friction for easy operability of the valve stems and designed for an operating pressure of at least 16 bar.

A complete overhaul of the valves must be carried out in the workshop with the valve removed, since in this case the cover gasket is also replaced.

All materials used are certified according to TA-Luft. Valves with the described spindle sealing system have now been certified in accordance with EN 15848.

Retrofit of Pumps

The retrofit of pumps in accordance with TA-Luft can be carried out either in the workshop or directly on site. Retrofitting is possible even in very limited installation spaces, where the available room is insufficient for a conventional double mechanical seal.

The on-site retrofit has the advantage that the pump does not need to be removed from the tank pit. The required work steps are:

  • Data collection on site with the pump emptied
  • Reassembly of the pump and continued operation for approx. 6 weeks (time for material procurement)
  • On-site retrofit followed by a pressure test

Maintenance and Repair Service

As part of our maintenance program, we offer the following services for all retrofitted valves:

  • Inspection of the preset sealing forces
  • Verification of valve operability
  • Cleaning and lubrication of designated components
  • Test report documentation

The maintenance interval is coordinated individually with the customer.

In addition, all types of minor repairs can also be carried out on non-retrofitted technical installations.
