Special metal and composite seals

Special metal and composite seals

Product description

Metal and metal composite gaskets for pipe flanges are standardized. If the conditions for using a standard gasket are no longer met, the standardized dimensions can be deviated from.

Cases of application are flange connections which are damaged on the flange sealing surface in the area of the gasket, but can still be used in other areas of the sealing surface. For this purpose, the gasket is adapted to the usable area and a revision of the sealing surface can be planned for the next revision.

The same applies to RTJ joints. If the distance between the raised faces is too small in the clamped state, but the sealing surface is considered reusable despite plastic deformation, the (standardized) sealing height of the RTJ seal can be increased to safely prevent the sealing strips from touching each other.

Other special gaskets are spiral-wound gaskets type DSSF, which require a lower minimum surface pressure during installation and operation due to impregnation and an increased graphite content.

All the above gaskets are dimensioned and documented on a project-specific basis. Further information is available in the form of brochure sheets or detailed product descriptions.
